When Governor Whitmer announced that Michigan had its first “presumptive positive” cases of coronavirus, CareLinc Medical Equipment released their first official internal communication reminding employees to remain calm and refresh their infection prevention training. Sanitizing stations were created at all 23 walk-in retail locations along with informational coronavirus hand-outs for patients. As personal protective equipment (PPE) supplies came into high-demand (like hand sanitizer, masks, gloves and gowns), CareLinc created a policy to keep the stock to be used for employee and patient protection while new suppliers would be sought out immediately for the increased demand. We also encouraged people to order their supplies online or call their orders in for drop-ship capabilities to try and reduce their trips into our retail locations for the time being.

For CareLinc, the safety and well–being of our employees and customers is always top-of-mind.

As the number of positive COVID-19 cases spreads across the country, we’re trying to combat potential health concerns forthright. We’ve done this with:

  • Enhanced cleaning measures
  • Increased social distancing by allowing additional staff to work from home
  • Pre-screening those entering CareLinc for service
  • Reducing any unnecessary face-to-face contact with patients
  • Even bio-fogged office spaces for sterilizing pathogens in high traffic areas

These additional steps in our stores, corporate office and distribution warehouses are to continue our focus on keeping people safe and healthy. We are following guidance from public health officials and government agencies, including the Centers for Disease Control and the World Health Organization, so we can make the most informed decisions with the best of intentions. As circumstances continue to change with this on-going and ever evolving situation, we are pre-screening all patients on a case-by-case basis now. We’re helping service everyone in the best way we can to keep all parties as safe as possible.

Delivery technicians make up nearly 30% of our work force at CareLinc Medical and are responsible for the delivery, set-up, and pick-up of medical equipment, oxygen products and supplies for patients all over our service areas. These courageous employees have been cautious but diligent on the front lines every day, all day.

Taking necessary precautions and utilizing personal protective equipment (PPE) like masks, gloves, gowns, and hand sanitizer – CareLinc employees are properly equipped to protect themselves and others.

And while we’re no stranger to working with sensitive or high-risk customers, CareLinc has always been open and honest and able to care for others like we care for our own loved ones.

Thousands of customers rely on CareLinc Medical to deliver oxygen to them. Hundreds of patients require ventilators and vent supplies from us. We continue to set up discharged hospital patients in their homes with equipment essential to free up necessary space needed for recovering COVID-19 patients. We are setting up and picking up equipment with Hospice patients in their end-stages of life that deserve quality care, no matter what is happening in the world.

We are proud of our employees, especially our front-line staff, who continue to work and serve our customers during this outbreak.

Local, state, and federal health officials are working tirelessly to safeguard our health. CareLinc is in a unique position to supply hospital beds, ventilators, suction machines and medical equipment to hospitals and relief centers in the mission to treat coronavirus patients. We were deemed an essential business during the COVID-19 crisis because we are part of the healthcare system and we’re honored to be able to serve others at this critical time. CareLinc is ready and we are prepared to assist in these efforts.

While shelter in place orders are in effect, we encourage now, more than ever, reordering supplies using our online form at carelincmed.com as well as calling us at 888.810.5462. We can drop-ship supplies to your door or still deliver equipment as needed.

Please stay home, stay safe and stay positive. We are in this together. Thank you for choosing CareLinc and we look forward to continuing to serve you.
