Continuous Passive Motion (CPM)

The continuous passive motion, or CPM, is a therapy designed to assist with patient recovery after an injury or knee replacement surgery by moving the leg in a series of motions for an extended period of time. This movement prevents tissues and joints from becoming stiff and promotes healing by reducing recovery time.

Continuous Passive Motion (CPM)

A continuous passive motion machine is designed to provide anatomical motion for all types of knee patients: pediatric, athletic and bariatric.

Doctors prescribe a degree of flexion to increase the bending of the knee and a degree of extension to relax/straighten the leg.

CPM’s often have an optional setting for speed for the user’s comfort level.
